Communication Design Student Wins D&AD New Blood Wood Pencil Award

10 Jul 2026

PolyU Design Teaching and Learning School of Design

PolyU School of Design student Nannapat Suttiponpaisarn (Nana) has received a prestigious 2026 D&AD New Blood Wood Pencil Award for Don't Forget, a project created in response to a New Blood Award brief set by Monotype and Penguin Books.

The D&AD New Blood Awards is a prestigious award programme open to advertising, design, digital and marketing students, recent graduates and emerging creatives worldwide. Participants are invited to respond to real-world creative briefs set by leading brands and organisations, either individually or in teams with peers from other institutions.

Nana, who has completed Year 2 (Communication Cluster) and will join the Information Design specialism, developed the award-winning project in collaboration with two creative partners who are students from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) and Thammasat Secondary School. The project was created as part of a Typography course taught and supervised by Roberto Vilchis.

This recognition reflects the value of international collaboration and industry-engaged learning in nurturing emerging design talent. We are pleased to see PolyU Design students continuing to gain recognition at the D&AD New Blood Awards, one of the creative industry's most highly regarded platforms for student achievement.

Don't Forget

"The story of forgetting something important that was already written on a note, simply because ignored. This is not merely a story about forgetting things, but it is a reminder to slow down, pause, and read, before the knowledge that matters most is left behind like a sticky note on a wall that no one ever reads."
