More than 49,000 visitors, including secondary school students, parents and prospective applicants, came to PolyU's annual Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions (Info Day) on 10 October, where they explored academic programmes, diverse study pathways and opportunities designed to prepare students for an increasingly dynamic and technology-driven future.

Featuring over 250 activities, Info Day provided opportunities for visitors to engage directly with staff members, students and alumni. Through admissions talks, workshops, interactive demonstrations and laboratory tours, participants gained first-hand insights into campus life, learning opportunities and state-of-the-art facilities. Admissions talks covering JUPAS, non-JUPAS, Senior Year admission and Gaokao pathways were among the most popular activities. Current students and alumni also shared their experiences of interdisciplinary learning, overseas exchange and industry-based projects, giving prospective students a first-hand perspective on learning and student life at PolyU.

Addressing participants, PolyU Deputy President and Provost Professor Wing-tak Wong highlighted PolyU’s commitment to helping students seize opportunities in the era of artificial intelligence and the digital economy through flexible study pathways, interdisciplinary thinking and continuous learning. This commitment is reflected in PolyU’s flagship “Education 4.0” initiative. Adopting a student-centred approach, the initiative integrates AI, interdisciplinary learning and personalised education, giving students opportunities to engage with emerging technologies, explore knowledge across disciplines and apply their learning in real-world contexts.

PolyU also highlighted upcoming enhancements to its academic offerings, including science-related programmes and interdisciplinary study pathways to respond to emerging industry and societal needs. The University furthermore announced measures to strengthen students’ global exposure. Academic Entry Scholarship recipients will receive an additional HK$30,000 overseas exchange subsidy, while PolyU continues to work towards ensuring that every undergraduate gains at least one non-local learning experience before graduation.

As one of PolyU’s largest annual outreach events, Info Day gave prospective students and their families a valuable opportunity to explore the University’s learning environment, connect with the PolyU community and make informed choices about their future studies.
