The global aviation industry’s recovery from the pandemic has started gathering pace. To help students prepare for industry rebound opportunities, PolyU has launched a Master of Science in Aviation Engineering programme to develop highly competent and competitive professionals in the field of aviation and aeronautical engineering.

Dr Hao Jiaao, Assistant Professor of the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering and the programme leader, said the resumption of cadet pilot recruitment by local airlines is a sign that the gradual recovery has started.

“The global aviation industry was growing at a rapid pace before the pandemic and will continue its growth momentum when the world resumes normal activities. Meanwhile, the aeronautical industry in Mainland China is growing fast and more eager than ever for professional talents – from qualified managers, engineers to researchers,” said Dr Hao.

The MSc programme provides a unique opportunity combining aviation and aeronautical engineering. Students can select a combination of subjects that lead to graduation with specialisation in Aviation Operations and Management or Aeronautical Engineering.

The mixed mode of study allows students to learn either full time or part time. Non-local students can opt for a 100 per cent online mode for their part-time study, while local students can vary their study mode from semester to semester.

The programme will start in September 2022 and the application deadline is 30 April 2022. For more information, please refer to the programme website.
