The University has recently announced three important appointments.

 

Professor Wing-tak Wong was appointed as the new Deputy President and Provost for a term of five years with effect from 1 December 2020 to succeed Ir Professor Ping-kong Alexander Wai, who will leave the University in early 2021 and proceed to take leave from December 2020 onwards. Professor Wong was previously Dean of Faculty of Applied Science and Textiles, Director of the University Research Facility in Chemical and Environmental Analysis and is currently Chair Professor of Chemical Technology.

 

Professor Kwok-yin Wong was appointed as Vice President (Education) with effect from 1 September 2020. Professor Wong is Patrick S.C. Poon Endowed Professor in Applied Chemistry and Chair Professor of Chemical Technology and was previously Interim Vice President (Research and Innovation).

 

Professor Daniel T. L. Shek was appointed as Interim Vice President (Research and Innovation) with effect from 18 November 2020 in addition to his current duties as Associate Vice President (Undergraduate Programme), Interim Head, Office of General University Requirements and Chair Professor of Applied Social Sciences.
