Microsoft releases major feature updates for Windows 11 annually, with each version receiving three years of security and performance support. To ensure a secure and stable computing environment, it is strongly recommended to run a version of Windows 11 that is currently within its official support lifecycle.

Currently Supported Versions

In alignment with Microsoft’s support roadmap, the following Windows 11 versions are officially supported:

  • Windows 11 25H2
  • Windows 11 24H2
  • Windows 11 23H2 (support ending soon)

 

Action Required:

If your department PCs are currently running Windows 11 21H2 or 22H2, they have reached "End of Life" (EOL) and no longer receive critical security patches. Please upgrade these devices to a supported version immediately to maintain security compliance.

Upcoming Update for Windows 11 23H2: Please be advised that official support for Windows 11 23H2 will end on 10 November 2026. To avoid potential security vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with University IT policies, we recommend scheduling your upgrade to the latest available version as early as possible.
