The PolyU Desktop Management System (PUDMS) helps streamline software installation, updates, license compliance, and security updates for all PolyU domain-joined desktops and notebooks.

- Automated software updates:
Automatically delivers the latest software updates and security patches to your office desktop and notebook, ensuring you benefit from new functions and features in the latest versions / releases, with security vulnerabilities patched in a timely manner.
- Test and verified software source for installation support:
Staff can request and install approved software applications directly through PUDMS, ensuring license compliance and minimizing the risks of downloading software from unsolicited Internet sources.
- Remote support:
IT staff can remotely troubleshoot and resolve issues — upon your permission — if the device is joined to PUDMS, speeding up problem resolution and minimizing disruption.

Best practices
- Do not download and install software from unsolicited Internet sources, which may compromise security and violate University policies.
- Periodically bring the University-issued notebook back to campus and connect it to the network to allow PUDMS to refresh your software and keep security patches and releases up to date.
