University Cloud Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) offerings have a scheduled technology refresh as detailed below. Application owners who use DaaS are advised to commence the required planning and actions to test and migrate your applications to the refreshed technology platform to ensure service continuity.

- MS-SQL 2022 DBaaS Now Available
- Departments using MS-SQL 2016 should begin migration planning and perform testing on the MS-SQL 2022 new environment.
- Supported migration schedule Nov 2025 - Jun 2026
- End of Support for MS-SQL 2016: 14 July 2026
- The MS-SQL 2016 DBaaS will be shut down after End of Support.
- MySQL 8.4 DBaaS Now Available
- A temporary MySQL 8.4 DBaaS environment is available to facilitate application testing prior to the in-place upgrade.
- End of Support for MySQL 8.0: 30 April 2026
- The in-place upgrade to MySQL 8.4 will be performed before End of Support.
Immediate Actions Required
Departments using MS-SQL 2016 DBaaS or MySQL 8.0 DBaaS need to:
- Assess compatibility
- Check application compatibility with MS-SQL 2022 and MySQL 8.4. - Conduct functional testing
- Plan and perform thorough testing on the upgraded platforms.
- Allow sufficient time for testing and any necessary code changes before the end-of-support deadline. - Coordinate with ITS
- Maintain communication regarding testing and migration schedules.
