Security Online Training

The security online training on LEARN@PolyU provides easy access to courses and resources covering cyber threats and how staff and students can stay vigilant to avoid falling prey to cyber scams.

01

Phishing scams are among the most common cyber-attacks that anyone might encounter. One type of phishing that often targets university is “Gift Card Phishing”. The attacker may pretend as someone you know and urgently request money, typically in the form of gift cards.

02

It is important for everyone to learn how to identify phishing emails. The security training platform’s Module 1 demonstrates how to protect yourself from these malicious attacks. Additionally, it would be beneficial to review Module 24 for more detailed examples of phishing techniques.

03

In addition to phishing, our platform also covers many other useful topics in cybersecurity. For example, it includes creating strong passwords, data protection on different devices, tips for working remotely, and an introduction to ransomware, etc.

To get started, you can access the platform by logging into LEARN@PolyU with your netID, and then selecting “Course” from the left navigation bar. Then, choose “IT Security Online Training” from the course list.
