ITC professors publish in top ranking journals

ITC would like to highlight the commendable achievements of Prof. Xiaoming Tao, Prof. Jintu Fan, Prof. Jason Choi and Dr Dahua Shou, who have recently published in top ranking journals in different fields:


49th Advisory Committee Meeting held successfully
The meeting took place on 3 July 2020 under the chairmanship of Ms Shirley Chan, Vice Chairman of YGM Trading Ltd.


New 2-year ITC undergraduate programme for sub-degree holders
Students will soon be able to receive a solid holistic understanding of new emerging technologies and digital fashion business models, and innovative marketing/business strategies and plans when ITC launches a new programme in 2021/22.

New ITC tagline - Pioneering Fashion and Textile Education and Research
ITC is introducing a new tagline in our efforts to enhance the awareness and understanding of ITC friends on the essence of our brand and uniqueness.


ITC launches first PolyU Fashion Online Contest 2020
ITC invited people to cast votes for their preferred designs among the collections created by over 60 design students at the first ever PolyU Fashion Online Contest.


Distributing PU30TM resuable face mask to protect community
To help students protect themselves against the spread of this coronavirus, Prof. Chi-wai Kan and Dr Joanne Yip visited Sheng Kung Hui Holy Spirit Primary School to donate nearly a thousand PU30TM face masks.

ITC offering two new CAR subjects
Starting in 2021/22, ITC will offer two new CAR subjects: "Fashion and Beauty" and "Smart Wearables and Smart Living". All PolyU students are welcome to enroll.


EcoMat organises two webinars on solar cells
Prof. Zijian Zheng, editor-in-chief of EcoMat, hosted two webinars, titled “EcoMat Perovskite Solar Cells Webinar” and "EcoMat Organic Solar Cells Webinar” in May and June 2020 respectively.




REFORMING FASHION - Online student fashion show
ITC is launching our very first online student fashion show on the ITC Facebook Fan Page, Instagram and Linkedin, featuring the amazing works of our graduating students from three categories: “Intimate Design”, “Fashion Design” and “Knitwear Design”.

PolyU Fashion Show 2020
In the spirit of adaptation during the COVID-19 pandemic, 61 students presented their collections to a pre-judging panel through an online voting platform.


PolyU Intimate Fashion Show 2020
ITC held the PolyU Intimate Fashion Show 2020 on 9 July 2020, showcasing the creativity and design talents of 12 graduating students.

[Online exhibition] LOOL LOOP: Transitional Knitting
The Fashion Gallery is hosting "LOOK LOOP: Transitional Knitting", an online exhibition of a collection of textile and fashion designs by Yishu Yan.



Quick response research to COVID-19 – Development of face mask
In order to provide an alternative to disposable face masks, an ad-hoc project on developing an effective antiviral, washable and reusable face mask is led by the ITC with other PolyU researchers.

Dr Chloe Ki publishes top downloaded paper
A paper written by Dr Chloe Ki and published in Psychology and Marketing has been recognized by Wiley-Blackwell as the one of the top most downloaded papers among work published between January 2018 and December 2019.


Dr Jeanne Tan awarded Caring Ambassador for research with H.K.S.K.H Welfare Council
Dr Jeanne Tan has been awarded ‘Caring Ambassador’ for her contributions to social responsibility. Her research work involves developing tools for multi-sensory therapy for dementia victims.



ITC students are Fashion Future Challenge Award 2019 Champion
One of the teams of ITC students with BA Years 3 and 4 students received Champion for their proposal “Sustainable Dyes” at the Fashion Future Challenge Award.

Knitwear sustainable solutions
UPW invited all BA Year 3 students who are majoring in Knitwear Design and Technology to take part in a sustainable design project, and provided them with used fabric swatches as the raw materials to recreate new designs.
