 Ms Basia Szkutnicka, Professor of Practice (Fashion Design)

Ms Basia Szkutnicka is programme leader of the MA programme in Fashion & Textile Design and Professor of Practice at ITC.

Upon graduating from Saint Martins School of Art with a First in Fashion Design, she launched her own label and has worked as a course director, design educator, author, writer and freelance design / creative consultant for over 20 years.

Prior to joining PolyU, she was with the London College of Fashion as Course Director of the Study Abroad Programme.

Once described as ‘a breath of fresh air’ by Susie Menkes of the International Herald Tribune, Ms Szkutnicka specializes in curriculum development and innovation, design thinking, idea origination and creative processes.

She is a visionary thinker, innovator and influencer, well respected in the fashion community for her ability to move fashion forward by inspiring and nurturing students and designers worldwide.

She has written articles for fashion magazines and books on technical fashion drawing and vintage clothing, which have been published in over 8 languages.

 

 Ms Kim Wong, Professor of Practice (Fashion Marketing and Retailing)

Ms Kim Wong is a luxury retail executive with a comprehensive understanding of the critical market drivers in the retail industry. Ms Wong holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising from the University of Hawaii.  With more than 20 years of experience in retail management, Ms Wong has an outstanding record of building businesses in both the Asia Pacific region and USA in executive leadership positions with renowned retailers, including the DFS Group, Burberry, the Lane Crawford Group, and most recently as the Chief Operating Officer of The Swank Shop in Hong Kong and China as well as Managing Director of Brunello Cucinelli Hong Kong.
