Engineering is one of the founding disciplines of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University building on a tradition of engineering excellence for over 85 years. Over the decades, the Faculty of Engineering remains committed to its mission of enhancing the well-being of the community by serving industries and the educational needs of students. Generations of talented young engineers have been nurtured; their vision and leadership have contributed significantly to the development of society in Hong Kong and worldwide.

The Faculty has six constituent departments, namely the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering, the Department of Biomedical Engineering, the Department of Computing, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

We have around 6,000 students pursuing their studies in a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The majority of our engineering undergraduate programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, a signatory under the Washington Accord.

Our academic and research works have gained recognitions locally and internationally. The popularity of our academic programmes and the quality of our research are reflected in the rankings below:
