Dr Billy So is a registered physiotherapist and dedicated educator with extensive experience teaching at both community and tertiary levels. Renowned for his exceptional contributions to health education, he was honored with the RS Outstanding Teaching Award and the FHSS Teaching Prize at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) for the academic year 2016/17.
Currently, Dr So serves as a member of the Education Committee of the Physiotherapist Board (2023–present) and has been a Specialist (Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences) for the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications since 2018. In recognition of his commitment to advancing higher education, he was appointed as a Fellow of the Institute for Higher Education Research and Development (IHERD), PolyU in 2023, and was awarded the title of Fellow of Advance HE in 2025.

Teaching Area
Research Overview
Dr Billy So has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals, particularly on aquatic physiotherapy and exercise, swimming biomechanics, ergonomics interventions and exoskeletal technologies for the prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. He also serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Occupational Rehabilitation and Work Journal.
