Mission & Objective
Through education, research, and professional services, the departmental mission is to
- Nurture future leaders in prosthetics and orthotics, clinical engineering, medical instrumentation and sensors, and biological engineering by imparting interdisciplinary knowledge, innovative ideas, critical thinking and practical skills;
- Advance knowledge in the prevention, diagnosis, monitoring, treatment, and rehabilitation of medical conditions and in promoting healthy and active aging through interdisciplinary research and technology transfer;
- Enhance the quality of life for people with impairment or special needs by offering user-focused services in assistive technology, rehabilitation engineering, prosthetics and orthotics, and smart ageing.
