“Hakka Heritage in the Bay Area: Shaping a Shared Future”

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is committed to promoting Chinese culture. Through a rich array of activities, the annual PolyU Chinese Culture Festival nurtures students’ sense of national identity and deepens the younger generation’s understanding of the Nation, thereby fostering a stronger sense of pride and belonging.

Launched in March this year, the third PolyU Chinese Culture Festival will present one of its major events titled “Hakka Heritage in the Bay Area: Shaping a Shared Future” – Greater Bay Area Hakka Cultural Joint Showcase” (the Showcase) in October. Organised by PolyU and with strong support from the Municipal People's Governments of Huizhou, Heyuan, Meizhou, and Shaoguan as co-organisers, the two-week Showcase will feature an exhibition, dance drama, forum, and intangible cultural heritage workshops. The Showcase will highlight the contemporary charm of Hakka culture, explore the deep ties between Hakka culture and Hong Kong, as well as the outstanding contributions of the Hakka community to the Nation.
