On 2 September 2026, a delegation from Guangzhou Qichuan Investment Development Co., Ltd. visited The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) for an exchange with the TRS project team. The delegation included Mr. Miao Wang, General Manager of Operations; Mr. Zhe-Fei Chen, Head of the Design Department; Mr. Hua Lin, Deputy General Manager of Operations, and Mr. Hai-Bo Hong, Senior Manager of the Design Department. Prof. Yi-Qing Ni, Director of the National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technology Research Center (Hong Kong Branch) and Chair Professor of Smart Structures and Rail Transit, together with Dr. Vincent Wai Kei Ao, Dr. Yue Dong, Dr. Shao-Qun Lin, Mr. Min Deng, Mr. Ao Zheng, and Mr. Hang Du, attended the exchange.
During the meeting, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on potential collaboration in structural health monitoring for the Knowledge Tower, including relevant technical requirements, monitoring schemes, and opportunities for future cooperation. Following the meeting, led by Dr. Vincent Wai Kei Ao, the delegation visited relevant research facilities at PolyU to learn more about the structural health monitoring technologies, facilities, and ongoing research activities.
The exchange enhanced mutual understanding of the structural health monitoring needs of the Knowledge Tower and related technical work, while providing a valuable platform for exploring future collaboration and technical exchange.
