Prof. Yi-Qing Ni Represents PolyU in Signing Memorandum on the Joint Establishment of a Special Electromechanical Equipment Safety Technology Laboratory

On 26 August 2026, a science and technology collaboration signing ceremony was held during the establishment ceremony and celebration dinner of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Zhejiang Alumni Network. Prof. Yi-Qing Ni, Director of the National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technology Research Center (Hong Kong Branch) and Director of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Hangzhou Technology and Innovation Research Institute, Prof. Dao-Xin Dai, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and Vice President (in charge of daily administrative work) of China Jiliang University, and Dr. Dong-Liu Li, Chairman of Sicher Elevator Co., Ltd., signed the Memorandum on the Joint Establishment of a Special Electromechanical Equipment Safety Technology Laboratory on behalf of the respective parties.

The collaboration will leverage the respective strengths of the parties in scientific research and innovation, disciplinary expertise, and industrial applications to advance research collaboration and technological innovation in the field of special electromechanical equipment safety technology. It will also facilitate closer alignment between research resources and industrial application scenarios and promote collaborative innovation among universities, industry, and local partners.

The signing further strengthens research collaboration between The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, universities in the Chinese Mainland, and industry partners, while providing a new platform for the National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technology Research Center (Hong Kong Branch) to expand industry–academia–research collaboration and promote the translation and application of relevant research outcomes.
