Introduction
Established in the 1930s, as part of the ongoing commitment, the Department of Building and Real Estate (BRE) has been offering a selection of comprehensive academic programmes to nurture preferred graduates for the construction industry. Our alumni have excelled in their professions in the region and beyond. The Outstanding BRE Alumni Award aims to give public recognition to outstanding graduates of the Department for their distinguished accomplishments in their professions and staunch contributions to the community.
Eligibility
Nominations
The nominee must be a bona fide graduate who has successfully completed regular full-time or part-time programmes offered by BRE (forerunners: ‘Building Department’, ‘Department of Building, Surveying and Structural Engineering’ & ‘Department of Building and Surveying’) which lead to academic awards offered by the Department.
Selection Criteria
The major selection criteria include the nominee’s :
- Personal achievements / accomplishments in his / her profession ;
- Contribution to the community in which he / she lives;
- Contribution to the built environment development ; and
- Support to PolyU / BRE and the alumni development.

The Department of Building and Real Estate is very delighted to present its 'Outstanding BRE Alumni Award' to the two distinguished graduates in recognition of their remarkable accomplishments in their professions and significant contributions to the Department, PolyU and the community. Their illustrious achievements and valuable contributions have earned them the very well-deserved honour.
The Award Presentation Ceremony is held on 1 November 2016. The two awardees are listed as follows:

Sr Mike WONG Chik Wing, JP
MSc in International Real Estate (with Distinction) (Year of Award : 2003)

Failure to provide complete and accurate information may result in disqualification of the nominee.
After an award is presented, it may be withdrawn by the Department when it is deemed appropriate. The Department reserves all rights to modify the above rules and criteria at all time or waive compliance with such rules at its sole discretion provided that the decision lives up to the spirit and purposes of the Outstanding BRE Alumni Award.
