Biography

Dr. Yuting Hou is an assistant professor in the Department of Building and Real Estate at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She received her B.E. in Land Information Technology/Land Management from Wuhan University and M.Sc. in Human Geography from Peking University.  She holds a Ph.D. in Policy, Planning and Development from the Sol Price School of Public Policy, University of Southern California, where she was awarded the John Dyckman Award for Best Dissertation in Planning. Her research interests focus on four areas: Links between Transportation and Land Use/Urban Form; Transportation Planning and Policy (e.g., active mobility with relation to health issues; the economic impacts of transportation infrastructure; the application of real-time data in urban transportation planning); Urban and Regional Economics; Applied Spatial Analysis.

Before joining the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Yuting was a Research Fellow in the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities, Singapore University of Technology and Design, and a transportation modeler (intern) at the Southern California Association of Governments.
