Mr CHEN Rui, our BSc (Hons) Surveying student, has won the Rising Changemaker Prize organised by the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS).
At the award presentation ceremony, Prof. LING Kar Kan, HKHS Chairman and PolyU’s Senior Advisor to the President, highlighted that the first-ever Rising Changemaker Prize aimed to challenge students to tackle complex housing topics through rigorous case studies and solution proposals.
Out of 30 submissions, Rui stood out to the judging panel with a forward-thinking proposal to revolutionize estate management. His winning strategy integrates cutting-edge technologies like IoT, AI, robotics and drones to enhance safety, streamline maintenance and elevate the overall living experience for residents.
Rui shared, “I believe the greatest value of PropTech lies not merely in enhancing efficiency but in leveraging fault warnings and predictive management to shift estate management from a 'reactive' to a 'preventive' approach. My ultimate goal is to elevate the resident experience, improve service quality and promote aging in place.”
Congratulations to Rui on this well-deserved recognition!
