Career Sharing for BRE Students by The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors

With great support of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS), an eventful series of online career sharing was lined up for our undergraduate students throughout the second week of March. Giving a picture of HKIS, professions in building surveying, general practice surveying and quantity surveying, career prospects, practical interview skills, the HKIS representatives, all-round professionals and young trainees were invited to do sharing. Well done to Maggie Ng Tsin Tung, our Surveying student who received the ‘Outstanding Student Award of the Faculty of Construction and Environment’ and the ‘Outstanding Student Award of the Department of Building and Real Estate’! Following the welcoming remarks, Prof. Jin-Guang Teng, our President, presented the Awards to Maggie and the other top students in the Outstanding Student Awards Presentation Ceremony on 12 March 2021. Maggie, Keep up the good work! Introduction to ‘Doctor of International Real Estate and Construction Programme’ cum Distinguished Talk on ‘The Magic of Construction Innovations’

Last Saturday marked a remarkable chapter for our signature event, ‘BRE Distinguished Lecture’. Dr Cheung Tin-cheung, SBS, Director of Hong Kong Green Building Council and Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Design and Environment, Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong, was invited to share his comprehensive analysis and diverse perspectives of construction challenges and innovations in the Lecture. His sharing highlighted a way of shaping the industry’s new journey and was very inspiring to the participants. Shortly after the Lecture, Prof. Eddie Hui of BRE made the introduction to the 1st professional doctorate in international real estate and construction in Hong Kong, ‘Doctor of International Real Estate and Construction Programme (DIREC)’.
