Studying Sports and Neuromusculoskeletal Engineering at BME has allowed me to explore how engineering can help us better understand human movement and sports performance. My research focuses on biomechanics and sports engineering, where I analyse movement patterns and apply quantitative methods to study how the human body performs during dynamic activities.
Through my work, I explore how measurement technologies and computational analysis can provide deeper insights into movement efficiency, injury mechanisms, and performance optimization. Being part of the research community at BME has also shown me the value of collaboration across different fields, from biomechanics and physiology to data science. This environment encourages curiosity and critical thinking, and it has shaped my interest in advancing research that connects engineering with human performance and health.
Beyond academics, my time at PolyU BME has also included many meaningful community experiences. For example, I had the opportunity to serve as a master of ceremonies at several BME events, where I interacted with students, faculty members, and guests from different backgrounds. These activities allowed me to contribute to the BME community in a different way and helped me develop communication and leadership skills.
CAI Hejin, Claire
My research at BME’s Center for Biosensing and Precision Theranostics focuses on developing nanomaterial-based bioanalysis platforms across multiple biological levels. From protein detection to single-cell sequencing, I explore how nanomaterials enhance sensitivity and enable more efficient analysis. This experience has deepened my passion for biomedical engineering and strengthened my commitment to advancing bioanalytical technologies for disease diagnosis and patient care.
