Dr Chenzi Xu is an emerging scholar whose distinctive international profile in experimental and corpus phonetics and speech technology sets her apart. She specialises in phonetics, psychoacoustics, neurolinguistics and sociophonetics, with a particular focus on tone languages. By leading innovative cross-linguistic research on co-intrinsic pitch perception, she fosters international collaboration and advances theoretical and empirical understanding in the field. She has also developed open research tools and widely adopted tutorials in phonetic analysis, corpus methods and speech technology.
