Application for use of the new 3T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system is now open

Dear UBSN users,

We are pleased to introduce UBSN’s new equipment, Siemens Prisma 3T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system, located in room ZB216. MRI is a medical imaging technique to inform the anatomy and physiology of the body. The new MRI system is currently undergoing testing and commissioning, and will be ready for use soon.

In order to use this new MRI system, principal investigator (PI) should submit an MRI project application, which will be reviewed by the UBSN MRI review panel, and all users, such as PI and the research personnel thereof, should undergo MRI safety training.

Upon approval of the project and fulfilling MRI safety training, users will be allowed to book the MRI system. The charge rates for use of the MRI are 1600 HKD/hr for PolyU users, 3200 HKD/hr for users from other UGC-funded institutions, and 8000 HKD/hr for external users.
