Master of Design (Intelligent Systems Design)
The Capstone Project, NOMIND – NOMI’s Intelligent Personality Interaction System, explores how in-car AI can evolve beyond traditional voice assistants into emotionally intelligent companions. Designed for young EV users, particularly couples, NOMIND allows users to personalise their driving experience by selecting MBTI-inspired personality traits for NOMI. This personality-driven approach supports more meaningful, context-aware, and adaptive interactions inside the vehicle.
The system integrates user-personality mapping, MBTI-based adjustment frameworks, multimodal interaction design, and large language models to generate adaptive and natural responses. By doing so, NOMIND bridges human emotion and AI logic, creating a driving environment that feels both intelligent and empathetic.
Through collaboration with NIO, we addressed real-world design challenges while balancing visionary concepts with technical feasibility. This experience not only deepened our understanding of emotional AI and human–machine interaction but also guided us in shaping future-oriented cockpit experiences that blend practicality with engagement.
