Call for Submissions | 2026 19th PhD Colloquium on Design Research

The 2026 19th PhD Colloquium on Design Research will be held at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 10 and 12 November 2026 and hosted by its School of Design.
 
Under the theme “Building Translational Design Knowledge”, the Colloquium will bring together design scholars, faculty members, and doctoral researchers from institutions in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and overseas to explore emerging directions in design research across four areas: Design Intelligence, Design Wellbeings, Design for Virtue, and Translational Knowledge.
 
Doctoral students in design and related disciplines worldwide who have passed their confirmation of candidature are invited to submit a research abstract with their supervisor’s recommendation. Outstanding applicants will receive a formal invitation to present their research and showcase a poster at the Colloquium, with feedback from experts across participating institutions. Best Presentation and Best Poster Awards will be presented.
