Learning from Amsterdam from Hong Kong: Weekend Community Salon

Learning from Scott Brown and Venturi’s “Learning from Las Vegas” and adding a twist, we name this overseas design exercise “Learning from Amsterdam from Hong Kong”.

Returning to the everyday vernacular, we made sense of reality through collective actions and designed nothing but conversations with locals, social designpreneurs, and Dutch design experts. After losing our way in Amsterdam for 10 days, we brought back 12 suitcases and will share them with you on Jul 25-26.

There will also be 3 workshops organised by the students, focusing on themes including regenerative tourism, gentrification, neighbourhood in transition, and ethnic diversity.

The event is open to the public, especially educators, students, young creatives, and anyone interested in design, urban issues, and social change. 

【嚮香港向阿姆斯特丹學習】周末社區沙龍

兩個月前，45位理工大學設計學院的設計同學，於荷蘭阿姆斯特丹與從事再生旅遊（regenerative tourism）的公司Tours That Matter (@tours_that_matter) 合作，結識當地不同街坊、社企、NGOs、設計師，回歸庶民日常生活情景，以行動研究，用對話設計，最後在市中心馮德爾公園（Vondelpark）著名的藍色茶館（‘t Blauwe Theehuis ），以展示12個旅行箱作結。

我們將於7月25 - 26日於i-COMMON HK深水埗地舖與大家分享此行的學習體驗：

我們亦預備了3節不同主題的工作坊，與參與者分享整個旅程的策劃過程，並由同學親身分享自己的設計行動，與大家互動交流。歡迎公眾參與，尤其適合對設計、城市議題及社會變遷感興趣的教育工作者、學生及年輕創意人才。

所有工作坊的參加者均可獲贈同學親手製作的A6學習報告一本。每節工作坊名額20人，收費HK$50；收取費用全用作支持 i-COMMON HK社區工作之用。
