Summary
How will we live in Hong Kong over the next 50 years?
Henceforth… Hong Kong… explores this question through one of the design disciplines closest to the human body: furniture. Created by students from PolyU Design’s BA (Hons) in Environmental Design programme, the exhibition presents nine speculative furniture pieces that respond to future challenges and possibilities shaped by density, ageing populations and resource constraints.
Each piece carries two dates: the year it was made and the future year for which it was designed. Visitors are encouraged to touch the materials, sit on the furniture and engage directly with the works. During selected sessions, VR experiences will allow visitors to view future scenarios from the unique perspective of the furniture itself.
