1.5 km: Where Villages Meets the City

Co-organised by PolyU School of Design and Kuk Po Get Together (重聚谷埔), in collaboration with the Sham Shui Po community, “Harvest in the City — A 1.5km Journey of Rural-Urban Encounter” revives rural flavours, crafts, and stories in the urban setting to bridge city and countryside.
The event features a specially designed 1.5km walking route—symbolising the traditional path Kuk Po villagers once took to the market for daily essentials. Along this trail, local shops, community centres, cafes, and restaurants transform into limited-time pop-up spaces — storytelling stores, exhibition spaces, and farmhouse eateries — woven together to share narratives between rural heritage and city life.

Participants walk the route to experience Hakka culture through food, interactive displays, and community stories, fostering deeper connections and a sense of belonging.

【 豐年城市——鄉城相遇的1.5公里 】

1.5公里，從鄉村至墟市，沙頭角村民由谷埔五肚經過碼頭，坐船至趁墟的距離。我們於深水埗再經歷鄉村的1.5公里，來一場村落趁墟的旅程，用雙腳、雙眼、雙手，體會城鄉對話，感受村民與市民的最近距離，從分享味道、記憶、觸感，治癒人心的疏離。 深水埗曾經有客家村落，今天我們與深水埗社區合作，為城市重拾鄉村的味道、手藝、故事。沿着這條城鄉步行道，路上的小店、社區中心、咖啡店與餐廳化身pop-up(限定)鄉郊的講故士多、展覽場地與農家菜館，編織出鄉村與城市的共享故事。 村鄉生活，在於相識，不管是谷埔、榕樹凹、還是荔枝窩，總有一個相認在左近，互助合作，過活種田，共同面對天災等挑戰。藉着是次活動，開展一趟尋回「熟悉感」的旅程，在城市重溫鄉村的人情味，重拾久違的親近感。 最後，我們感謝谷埔，榕樹凹和荔枝窩村民的協助和參與，並提供珍貴的資料。
