Biography

Dr Yi-Teng Shih has considerable industry experience and his portfolio ranges from consumer electronics to healthcare devices. These include projects for Brookstone, RadioShack, beurer, FORA and JustHerb so he has built design project collaborations between university and international/local companies. His supervision in design has won more than 60 international design awards and twelve patents in the past few years, including Reddot concept design award, IDEA award, A’ DESIGN award, European product design award and IDA design award. He has been invited as a design jury for 2018 International DesignNest Award and the topic was ‘Bring Your Designs to Life’. He received a PhD from the University of Newcastle Australia where he obtained a postgraduate research prize in design and the AIB chapter president’s research award. His expertise lies in design cognition, design media and design education. He has published several journal articles and book chapters such as Design Studies.
