Introduction
CLC provides a number of Chinese subjects that are tailor-made for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students or students whose Chinese proficiency is at the junior secondary level or below.
Subjects for Full-time students
Students admitted from 2024/25 may be exempted from the Chinese Language Communication Requirement (CLCR) upon admission and can use a CLCR subject to fulfil the credit requirement. Meanwhile, students admitted from 2018/19 to 2023/24 are still required to take a CLCR subject to fulfil the LCR requirement.
Depending on students’ language background and relevant Chinese learning and assessment records, one subject below will be pre-assigned to each student as CLCR. In addition, a placement test will be conducted at the beginning of the semester to determine the final assignment of Chinese LCR subject.
