Purpose

This half-day dragon activity organized by Student Resources and Support Section (SAO) offers a powerful medium for integration and cross-cultural exchange by bringing together diverse participants in synchronized teamwork. This traditional Chinese practice creates meaningful connections as paddlers from different backgrounds unite toward a common goal, sharing cultural knowledge and building mutual understanding through shared physical experience. The inclusive nature of the sport, combined with its rich cultural heritage, provides natural opportunities for dialogue, friendship formation, and appreciation of cultural differences, ultimately strengthening community bonds across cultural divides.

Purpose

This half-day symposium jointly organized by Student Resources and Support Section (SAO), Boyan Hall, and CURI Residential College will bring together international and local hall residents to showcase their research on innovations for sustainable future. We define “innovations” broadly—not limited to high-tech inventions like metaverse or biotechnology, but encompassing any new ideas, methods, or products that create value for a sustainable future.

The symposium aims to highlight that our hall community fosters both vibrant social engagement and serious academic pursuits, creating an environment conducive to residents’ holistic development. We welcome diverse approaches to the theme as we collectively explore new values for a sustainable future.
