PolyU Students at the Flag-Raising Delegation in Beijing

Event Highlights

The inaugural tour for flag-raising delegations from universities in Hong Kong took place from June 16 to 20, 2025. Organised by the Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association and supported by the Hong Kong and Macao Work Office of CPC Central Committee, the event featured flag-raising team representatives from eight universities in Hong Kong, with the PolyU Student Flag-Raising Team making a remarkable participation. 

A highlight of the tour was witnessing the National Flag-Raising Ceremony at Tiananmen Square, complemented by an insightful visit to the Tiananmen Square National Flag Guard. Participants observed the ceremonial routines, feeling the solemn atmosphere that left a profound impression on them. This experience deepened their understanding of the significance of safeguarding the national flag, enhancing their sense of national identity and belonging.

During their visit to Beijing Language and Culture University, PolyU students engaged in exchanges with the local flag-raising team, observing their drills. The precision and discipline exhibited by their peers inspired the PolyU students, fostering a spirit of teamwork and responsibility.

The tour also included visits to historical sites such as the Chinese Communist Party History Museum, the Military Museum of the Chinese People’s Revolution, the Chinese Traditional Culture Museum, the Great Wall at Juyongguan, and the Forbidden City. These enriching experiences broadened students’ horizons and deepened their appreciation for Chinese culture, igniting a passion for historical exploration and traditional values.

Through this profound and emotionally resonant journey, PolyU Student Flag-Raising Team members expressed their commitment to contributing to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, vowing to transform their patriotism into action for the future of their Motherland.
