魏佩菁教授於香港理工大學取得物理治療學(榮譽)理學士及博士學位，並先後獲得澳洲研究毅進獎學金 (Australia Endeavour Research Fellowship) 及Asian Pacific Society of Respirology（APSR） 短期研究獎學金，前往澳洲悉尼大學及Royal Prince Alfred Hospital進行慢性阻塞性肺病與哮喘之研究。其研究範疇涵蓋慢性疾病管理、心肺物理治療及運動生理學。魏教授於2024年獲頒APSR Fellow（FAPSR）。
魏教授致力促進物理治療教育的發展，先後以主要申請人和共同申請人的身份獲得逾二百萬美元教學科研基金，推動發展創新教學法，促進心肺物理治療及臨床教育範疇的多元化學習。其卓越教學成就屢獲殊榮，包括2016及2025年度教資會傑出教學獎、2018年中國教育部的國家級教學成果獎二等獎（高等教育）、2019/20及2025年度香港理工大學校長特設傑出教學成就獎，以及2025年在 QS 全球教學創新大獎中榮獲「培育就業能力」項目銀獎。魏教授於2022年獲頒英國Advance HE Senior Fellow (SFHEA）及2025年獲頒英國Academy of Medical Educators Fellow（FAcadMed）。
魏教授積極為醫療專業作出貢獻。她現為香港物理治療學會國際事務及出版分會主席、香港物理治療期刊副主編、並擔任國際心肺物理治療聯會（International Confederation of Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapists, ICCrPT）主席。
