Activities

“We Care We Share” Campaign

The PolyU We Care We Share (WCWS) programme was founded in response to the 2014 Yunnan Ludian earthquake and has since grown into a major driver of community rehabilitation efforts across China. With expertise from faculty in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and backing from PolyU alumni in mainland China, the initiative addresses the urgent need for accessible community-based rehabilitation services—a cornerstone of healthcare development nationwide.

The Keswick Foundation has been a long-term partner in this work, helping WCWS expand its reach and build lasting rehab networks. In 2025, WCWS will celebrate its 10th anniversary with new funding from the Foundation to launch the We Care We Share – Community Tele-Rehabilitation Programme across mainland China. This expansion will bring the successful Yunnan model to northwestern and northeastern regions, connecting more people to rehab services nationwide

“Better Ageing in Community Campaign”

The Better Ageing in Community Campaign aims to promote healthier ageing, with a particular emphasis on the importance of fall prevention among the elderly. Utilising AI technology developed by the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and other tools, the experienced research and teaching team will supervise physiotherapy and occupational therapy students who volunteer to conduct comprehensive assessments for 2,500 elderly individuals aged 60 or above. The assessments will focus on fall risk.
