魏佩菁教授于香港理工大学取得物理治疗学(荣誉)理学士及博士学位，并先后获得澳洲研究毅进奖学金 (Australia Endeavour Research Fellowship) 及Asian Pacific Society of Respirology（APSR） 短期研究奖学金，前往澳洲悉尼大学及Royal Prince Alfred Hospital进行慢性阻塞性肺病与哮喘之研究。其研究范畴涵盖慢性疾病管理、心肺物理治疗及运动生理学。魏教授于2024年获颁APSR Fellow（FAPSR）。
魏教授致力促进物理治疗教育的发展，先后以主要申请人和共同申请人的身份获得逾二百万美元教学科研基金，推动发展创新教学法，促进心肺物理治疗及临床教育范畴的多元化学习。其卓越教学成就屡获殊荣，包括2016及2025年度教资会杰出教学奖、2018年中国教育部的国家级教学成果奖二等奖（高等教育）、2019/20及2025年度香港理工大学校长特设杰出教学成就奖，以及2025年在 QS 全球教学创新大奖中荣获「培育就业能力」项目银奖。魏教授于2022年获颁英国Advance HE Senior Fellow (SFHEA）及2025年获颁英国Academy of Medical Educators Fellow（FAcadMed）。
魏教授积极为医疗专业作出贡献。她现为香港物理治疗学会国际事务及出版分会主席、香港物理治疗期刊副主编、并担任国际心肺物理治疗联会（International Confederation of Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapists, ICCrPT）主席。
