辛美琪博士于中山大学(广州)取得医学学士学位(预防医学专业),其后于香港中文大学赛马会公共卫生及基层医疗学院取得博士学位(公共卫生专业)并接受博士后培训。 作为一名行为科学研究者,辛博士致力于运用行为医学领域前沿的理论及方法学,设计有效且具扩展性强的干预项目,以激励并赋能有需要的人群积极参与疾病预防与健康管理。她尤其关注乐龄健康相关研究,致力于在社区环境下促进长者及其照顾者的健康行为(如积极运动的生活方式、预防保健服务的使用、专业医疗健康服务的寻求),从而提升他们的自我管理能力,并维持日常生活中的独立性。 具体而言,她的研究聚焦于结合先进的行为改变技术与数字科技,以促进健康行为启动与维持背后的动机及意志过程。在一项优配研究金资助的随机对照试验中,她致力于开发一个全自动聊天机器人干预项目,结合叙事劝服与实施意向策略,以促进社区长者的流感疫苗接种行为。在另一项医疗卫生研究基金资助的研究中,她致力于开发世界卫生组织“心理自助+”(Self-Help Plus)的数字化版本,通过融合参与促进的策略,以支持长者照顾者在日常生活中实践基于接纳与承诺疗法(ACT)的压力管理技巧。 除了干预研究外,她亦开展有关行为及心理健康结局背后社会心理机制的流行病学研究。她的研究重点在于探讨社区人士如何感知并应对健康威胁。在一项医疗卫生研究基金资助的队列研究中,她致力于追踪逾1000名有慢性失眠症状的社区长者及其家属,分析其疾病感知、专业求助行为及其他疾病应对模式。
