Kranz教授於 2008 年 11 月獲得維也納大學心理學碩士學位（Magister rerum naturalium, Mag. rer. nat.）。其後，他於 2013 年 8 月在維也納醫科大學取得臨床神經科學博士學位，並於 2016 年 4 月完成神經科學的教授資格論文（Habilitation，在歐洲成為大學教授所需的高階學術資格）。

2018 年 8 月，Kranz教授因個人原因移居香港，並於香港理工大學康復治療科學系擔任教職。

Kranz教授及其團隊專注於結合非侵入性腦部刺激與神經影像技術，以探究腦部刺激療法對神經精神疾病的作用機制。
