Kranz教授于 2008 年 11 月获得维也纳大学心理学硕士学位（Magister rerum naturalium, Mag. rer. nat.）。其后，他于 2013 年 8 月在维也纳医科大学取得临床神经科学博士学位，并于 2016 年 4 月完成神经科学的教授资格论文（Habilitation，在欧洲成为大学教授所需的高阶学术资格）。
2018 年 8 月，Kranz教授因个人原因移居香港，并于香港理工大学康復治疗科学系担任教职。
Kranz教授及其团队专注于结合非侵入性脑部刺激与神经影像技术，以探究脑部刺激疗法对神经精神疾病的作用机制。
