Biography

Prof. Kranz received the title of Magister rerum naturalium (Mag. rer. nat.) in Psychology from the University of Vienna in November 2008. He went on to earn his PhD in Clinical Neurosciences at the Medical University of Vienna in August 2013 and obtained his habilitation in Neurosciences (an advanced academic qualification in Europe required to become a university professor) in April 2016.

In August 2018, Prof. Kranz began his appointment at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at PolyU after relocating to Hong Kong for personal reasons.

Prof. Kranz and his team focus on combining non‑invasive brain stimulation with neuroimaging to investigate the mechanisms of action underlying brain stimulation therapies for neuropsychiatric disorders.
