陈教授的研究着重于社区老年人在正常衰老和病理性退化方面的认知健康，并採用经颅直流电刺激、电生理测量和定性方法等研究方法。她的临床经验侧重于老年病学实践，尤其是失智症和中风康复。她之前是香港理工大学的临床导师。回到新加坡后，她在新加坡理工大学担任了两年的助理教授。其后，她在一个半政府机构工作了两年，专注于为新加坡社区医疗康复服务进行项目评估。
