Abstract:
Inter-disciplinary project with PolyU start-up company, and AirLab of Industrial centre in new design of power wheelchair, add-in digital modules for measurement and mechanical advantages to meet different cases’ functional enhancement. Enhance the teaching platform for AAC utilization and power wheelchair modernization for cases with rare diseases. Two pilot research for new innovations for persons with rare diseases in using AAC in Power wheelchair:
i.  Development of ‘Jerk Measurement System’ on the power wheelchair including Apps & Metrics innovations for clinical assessment of power wheelchair driving
ii. Evaluate the application of Dynamic Arm Support System for cases in control of power wheelchair and utilization of AAC devices
