PolyU has been engaging in the development of the Greater Bay Area (GBA), and has established research platforms and joint innovation centres with institutions in the GBA. Leveraging its strengths in areas including space and aviation, high speed rail, building structure, life science, biotechnology, big data and cloud computing, the University has participated in mainland China’s research projects and made contributions to the training of talents and development in GBA.

 

At the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau University Alliance 2019 Young Scholars’ Forum, Vice President (Research Development) Prof. Alex Wai said that PolyU is committed to facilitating the collaboration among institutions and corporations in GBA. In his view, Hong Kong’s tertiary institutions could participate in the key initiatives of the nation to scale up the training of talents and help advance technologies for the GBA and the nation.
