Biography
Prof. Dahua Shou is the Associate Director of the PolyU-Xingguo Technology and Innovation Research Institute, Associate Director of the Research Centre of Textiles for Future Fashion, Limin Endowed Young Scholar in Advanced Textiles Technologies (利民先進紡織科技青年學者席), and an Associate Professor at the School of Fashion and Textiles (SFT). He is also the founding Program Leader of Asia's and China’s first postgraduate program in Intelligent Wearable Technology (亞洲及中國首個“可穿戴科技”研究生學位).
Prof. Shou has received The Fiber Society’s 2023 Distinguished Achievement Award, an annual honor given to an individual researcher worldwide. He ranks among the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide in 2022 - 2024. Prof. Shou has also received the Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury (2025) and a Gold Medal (2024) at the Geneva Invention Exhibition in Switzerland, as well as the TechConnect Global Innovation Award twice in the United States. In addition, he has been honored with the PolyU Graduate School Outstanding Research Postgraduate Young Alumni Award (2024).
Prof. serves as an Associate Editor and Editorial Board Member for eight SCI journals (Q1/Q2), including Textile Research Journal and Journal of Industrial Textiles. Additionally, he is the Deputy Director of the Expert Committee at the National Textile and Apparel Comfort Technology R&D Center, China Textile Engineering Society. Prof. Shou is the chair of The Fiber Society Spring 2025 Conference in Hong Kong, themed “Future Fibers for Wellbeing, Intelligence, and Sustainability”.
Prof. Shou's research focuses on Advanced Textiles, Intelligent Wearables, and Thermal and Moisture Management, and leading his group, iFiber: Interface, Fibers, Intelligence, Bioinspiration, Energy, and Robotics, to increase understanding and optimize performance of body-environment and/or human-machine interface for Human Argumentation, based on advanced and sustainable fibrous materials, intelligent models and algorithms, bioinspired design, energy harvesting and conversion, and soft robotics. Nearly 100 peer-review papers have been published in prestigious journals such as Science and Science Advances. In the past three years, he has been granted 3 US patents and over ten Chinese patents. He has led over 30 research grants (as PI) from GRF/ECS, ITF, GTF, ECF, Industry, and PolyU.
Prof. Shou earned his PhD from PolyU and then worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow consecutively at The University of Sydney and Cornell University.

寿大华教授,现任香港理工大学(理大)未来服装纺织科技研究中心副主任、理大兴国研究院副院长、及未来智能穿戴中心主任。他是理大时装及纺织学院副教授和智能可穿戴科技研究生课程创始主任。寿教授于理大获得博士学位后,在悉尼大学和康奈尔大学完成博士后研究工作。主要从事个人热湿管理、智能可穿戴技术及软体机器人研究,获得理大学者冠名计划下的利民先进纺织科技青年学者席。
寿教授于2023年获得美国纤维学会杰出成就奖(全球每年仅一位学者),并担任2025年美国纤维学会春季会议大会主席。他在瑞士日内瓦发明展获得评审团嘉许金奖(2025)和金奖(2024),并于2021年和2022年两度获得美国TechConnect全球创新奖。此外,他还荣获2024年理大研究生院杰出青年校友奖和学院杰出成就奖(学术研究)。
寿教授现担任八个SCI期刊副编辑或编委(包括老牌纺织类国际期刊Textile Research Journal副编辑),在Science、Science Advances等知名国际期刊上发表了100篇SCI论文,近年获得三项美国专利与十多项中国发明专利授权。相关研究转化工作(如iActiveTM和Soft Robotic Clothing)获得多家媒体的采访与报道,包括央广网、中新网、ABC News、TVB和香港有线电视等。
