The HKBIM Future Public Housing Design Competition, jointly organised by the Research Institute for Land and Space (RILS), China (Hong Kong) Association of Architects and Engineers (CHAAE), Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre (LSCM), Hong Kong STEM Education Alliance (STEM Alliance), Hong Kong Project Management Exchange Centre (PMEC) and Hong Kong Academy of Management (HKAOM), concluded on 7 October 2023. The Grand Final together with an Award Ceremony were held on the same day at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Launched on 4 July, the Competition invites contestants to develop viable design proposals for future public housing by using the PolyU-developed HKBIM software platform. The Competition encourages contestants to utilise knowledge across disciplines and professions, and skills in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics), to provide design solutions that improve the living environments in Hong Kong.
