Summary
Abstract
Neuromodulation is changing how we treat chronic pain and neurological conditions, yet innovation alone is not enough. The greater challenge is ensuring that proven therapies reach the people who can benefit from them – and doing so in an economically viable way.
This keynote explores the gap between technological breakthroughs and real world adoption. Why do effective therapies remain underused? How can awareness, clinician training, patient education and procedure improvements accelerate access to care? And what role do industry, healthcare providers and policymakers play in turning innovation into impact?
Drawing on lessons from the industry, the keynote will examine the factors that drive adoption at scale, from building referral pathways, improving procedural efficiency without compromises in patient outcomes, and improving healthcare professional training to demonstrating value across healthcare systems – and ultimately drive commercial success by ensuring the technologies that create the greatest impact are those that reach the people who need them most.

Vincent Sourdaine is the Vice President of Neuromodulation at Boston Scientific in EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa). With 30 years of experience in the medical device industry, Vincent is a seasoned business leader, who is overseeing the growth of the business in the fields of therapies for movement disorders and chronic pain.
Since joining Boston Scientific in 1999, Vincent has held multiple leadership roles in different areas of the business, with expertise in sales, strategic marketing, and commercial execution. He became vice president EMEA in January 2019, after 13 years with the neuromodulation business. Vincent’s extensive experience in the medical device industry and the neuromodulation business, with his leadership and management skills, have helped to drive the growth and success of the division across the EMEA region.
Vincent was born in France, lives in Rennes and holds a Masters in Business and Economics, International Marketing and Management from Weller International Business School, France.
