PolyU Connect Programme | Non-local Student Services

The PolyU Connect Programme is a strategic initiative to promote an inclusive and integrated community among local, non-local and exchange students through engaging events and activities. These activities encompass various aspects, such as language, arts, culture, sports, games, food and more. By connecting students from diverse cultural backgrounds through shared experiences, the PolyU Connect Programme promotes cultural exchange, enhances global competency, and enriches students’ overall learning experience. Since its implementation in Semester 2, 2023/24, over 30 activities have taken place, attracting around 10,000 participants.

Event Highlights

Walking Food Tour

On 1 March 2025, the "Exploring Hong Kong: Foodie – Walking Food Tour” from the Non-local Student Services Team attracted around 60 students for a journey with local delicacies and cultural insights.

Polyu Inter-hall Baseketball Competition

Inter-Hall Basketball Competition 2025

The PolyU Inter-Hall Basketball Competition 2025 was held from 15 to 23 February 2025 over the weekends. Boyan, Kaiyuan, Wuhua, Chengde, Wuxian, Lizhi, Xuemin, Lisheng and Minyin from the Hung Hom Hall teams up for a fun and sporty basketball competition, with cheers and support from their hallmates.

Survival Cantonese Workshops

Our Survival Cantonese sessions on 6 and 10 September 2024 were a huge success! Over 200 Mandarin and English-speaking students joined us to learn essential Cantonese phrases for daily life in Hong Kong.

Lantau Island trip

On 3 November 2024, the Non-local Student Services Team brought more than 100 students to Ngong Ping and Tai O at "Exploring Hong Kong: Outdoors – Lantau Island Trip”.

The Legend of Dragon

On April 10, 2024, Student Affairs Office organised a well received event “The Legend of Dragon”. Over 1,500 local and non-local students and staff gathered to explore a tapestry of cultural expressions.

Hong Kong Style BBQ

On 19 Jan 2024, around 180 non-local and local students joined all-you-can-eat BBQ organized by Non-local Student Services Team at Tuen Mun!
