On 22 January 2026, Professor Jiang Lan, President of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), led a delegation to visit The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Professor Teng Jinguang, President of PolyU, Professor Wang Zuankai, Associate Vice President (Research), as well as deans of relevant faculties and research institutes warmly received the delegation. Both sides held a meeting to exchange views and engaged in in-depth discussions on various topics, including innovative collaboration, technology transfer, and talent cultivation.
During the meeting, the presidents of both universities renewed the institutional-level Memorandum of Understanding and jointly witnessed the signing of a departmental Memorandum of Understanding between the School of Medical Technology of Beijing Institute of Technology and the Department of Biomedical Engineering of PolyU. The two sides also exchanged three letters of intent for cooperation, namely: the Establishment of the Beijing-Hong Kong Joint Laboratory for Smart Green Economy, the ESG and Economic Supervision Large Model Joint Laboratory, and the Joint Laboratory on Smart Electronics. This marks a new chapter in the strong partnership between the two universities, paving the way for higher-quality development together in the future.
