Hangzhou Base

The Hangzhou Regional Base was PolyU's first development base in the Chinese Mainland. Established in 1997 on the Zhejiang University (ZJU) campus as the Zhejiang University-The Hong Kong Polytechnic University International Executive Development Centre, it offered a wide range of PolyU award-bearing programmes from the undergraduate to doctoral level. To date, it has nurtured a community of more than 5,000 alumni.

In 2015, the Centre was renamed the Zhejiang University-The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Joint Centre. It has since embraced expanded missions in areas such as joint disciplinary development, research cooperation, joint training, student development, and alumni engagement. Furthermore, the regional base provides comprehensive support to PolyU students, staff, and other stakeholders through various initiatives, including student recruitment, enrichment activities, and internship programmes.
