IT security online training course - New module for students and staff

A new module of the IT Security Online Training Course for students and staff is now available on LEARN@PolyU. This module covers types of advanced phishing attack posing risks to the PolyU community and practical tips to stay safe from the attacks.

Campus access for alumni

To facilitate alumni to participate in various face-to-face events on PolyU campus, an Alumni Campus Access Registration Application has been released for use by alumni to self-register and obtain one-day campus access QR code.

Popular open source software used in Mainland

To facilitate researchers' collaboration with Mainland counterparties in Higher Education, Industries or Government ministries/bureaux, ITS has conducted research on popular open source software used in Mainland and tested their compatibility with Office document and files used at PolyU.

Update of Turnitin Assignment on LEARN@PolyU platform

The current interface of LEARN@PolyU platform to Turnitin Cloud will be retired and replaced with Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) interface on 12 August 2022.

New blanket agreement for notebook, PC, and workstation

Are your department planning to replace the aged desktop computers and notebooks in the office? Or looking for a new desktop or workstation with better performance for your new staff? ITS has prepared a 24-month blanket agreement on supply of office desktops and notebooks to facilitate departments in sourcing and procuring PC, notebook and workstation during the period from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2024.

CLO meeting held in July to communicate the latest IT updates

Departmental Computer Liaison Officer (CLO) is an important role who serves as a contact person between ITS and the department on IT related matters. We will arrange quarterly CLO meeting to communicate the latest University IT development with CLOs and invite them to provide their feedback. The CLO meeting was successfully held online on 20 July recently.

Retirement of Basic Authentication in Office 365 Email

Basic authentication is a traditional method for login with only a pair of username and password. Attackers may easily perform brute force or password spray attacks to system. To cope with cyber-attack, Microsoft decided to disable Basic Authentication in Office 365 Email (Exchange Online) with effective from 1 October 2022.

Enable two-factor authentication for using PolyU O365 apps wherever not in HK SAR

If you are planning to travel out of Hong Kong and will continue using the PolyU O365 apps on MS Cloud (e.g. Outlook email, OneDrive for Business and etc.)
