Effective from 1 Jan 2024, staff and teachers will be able to use GPT-3.5 1106 model on PolyU GenAI app via Azure Open AI Cloud service in seven new regions hosting Data Centers (Australia East, South India, France Central, Sweden Central, Canada East, US South and West US).
GPT-3.5 1106 model supports up to 16K tokens input (approximate 50K English characters) and maximum 4K tokens completion output. GPT-3.5 1106 has improved instruction following, parallel function calling and reproducible outputs. This enhancement allows model richer contextual understanding in longer prompts and responses.
More important is the amounts of credit to be deducted per K token used is 30 times less for input and 20 times less for output compared to the prevailing GPT-3.5 6403 model, so staff and students will be able to achieve more on using GPT-3.5 1106 model with the same monthly entitlement.
